Description
Taken on my fiancée's camera in Royal Armouries Leeds.
Card Reads:
Axe (tabar)
Indian, Chota Nagpur, early 10th century
This is a fine quality presentation weapon,
probably made as a demonstration of the
craftsmanship of the area for the Great
Exhibition. In form, however, it is the same
as the ordinary axe used in Chota Nagpur.
Purchased from the Great Exhibition 1851
